BIG EASY Review, Covent Garden

I discovered BIG EASY last Summer purely by accident when rambling around Covent Garden looking for somewhere to eat. It has since become one of my absolute favourite restaurants to visit. They have chains in Covent Garden, Canary Wharf and Kings Road.

The restaurants are dimly lit with a large bar, music playing and even a live band at the weekends. A perfect place for after-work dinners, socials and dates. The decor and atmosphere succeeds in replicating a “19th century crab shack & Bar.B.Q of the American Gulf Coast.”

The menu offers a mixture of BBQ meat and seafood galore and there’s no messing around when it comes to portion sizes – you get exactly what you pay for!  I personally feel the seafood is better than the BBQ options but mixing and matching is never a bad idea. The Lobster Mac n Cheese is to die for, and as someone who’s tried just about every type of Mac n Cheese on the planet, I can safely say this is my favourite. The creaminess of the Mac n Cheese infused with the large chunks of fresh, juicy lobster is something that everyone needs to experience!

However, it doesn’t stop there. The best part about BIG EASY is without a doubt their ‘Daily Specials’ that run from Monday-Thursday. The Daily Specials offer a £20 dish that is – wait for it – UNLIMITED. The menu switches up but expect dishes such as ‘Unlimited Deep Fried Shrimp’, ‘Limitless Seafood Boil’ and ‘Unlimited Chicken Wings.’ Portions are large, often served with an alcoholic beverage and you can have as many plates as you like!

All-in-all if you’re looking for big plates of good comfort food and the freshest seafood, all served in a cosy and welcoming atmosphere – then look no further! I definitely recommend to book as they are very popular. However, failing to do so – they have a great bar where you can wait after you put your name on the waiting list! Happy Eating x
